cedar waxwing sounds correct per your description (the yellow tail tip is diagnostic). they are fruit eaters so the habitat would fit as well. or perhaps you have seen a bohemeian waxwing. less likely, because of range, but not out of the question.…

I need help identifying a bird

I work in a nursery and was passing a row of cherry trees when a beautiful bird flew out of one. I was with a customer so I could not get too close but the tip of her tail feathers were yellow and she had a tuft like a cardinal on top. The color from what I could see was light brown. When I got home I tried to look it up and only came across the Cedar Waxwing.
