a Belted Kingfisher two nights ago! I heard a strange sound that I've been hearing at night for years and wasn't able to solve the mystery until two nights ago. I walked out of my house when I heard a noisy commotion outside. After I went outside, I looked into the sky and saw a Belted King Fisher fly right over my head. It was awesome and beautiful. Those birds are usually fast and very elusive but I saw him up close and personal so it was totally awesome! Happy birding everybody!

So last week, I was taking a walk down my street. To my suprise, I saw the elusive and very beautiful Belted King Fisher up on a telephone wire. I was so freakin stoked!! I've seen a lot of King Fishers flying around my house but only from a distance. I've only seen Kingfishers up close once before this time and that time it was a mating pair. Those guys are super gorgeous. I wish I had my camera. Next time! Happy birding everybody!
